Please take the time to read the following information. These guidelines have been developed to help ensure that our athletic seasons are safe and successful here at Grand Mountain School.  Please read these guidelines with your athlete that you understand and will participate in our athletic events appropriately. Sportsmanship is vitally important.

  • Indoor practices are closed to relatives and friends.  Please pick your child up outside.
  • Spectators are not allowed on the playing field/court or in the locker room before, during or after games and practices.
  • Players will be evaluated each week and must maintain academic eligibility.  Athletes are students first and therefore are not allowed to fail any classes in order to participate. Our coaches have the discretion of making their eligibility stricter.  Players will be notified before the season begins of specific eligibility requirements.
  • Players will only wear school issued uniforms. Other adornments are prohibited.
  • Students must be in attendance at least half of the day (11:00 A.M.) in order to participate in after school activities.
  • We do not guarantee playing time.  Athletes will be given plenty of practice time, but game play is dependent on individual situations and competitive needs.
  • Please be courteous and use positive remarks toward game officials, coaches, players and visiting teams. Remember, you are a role model for your child and are also representing Grand Mountain School. (Some officials are getting experience at the junior high level.)
  • Please abide by our 24 hour rule, which states if you have concerns with the coach, you need to make an appointment with myself or the coach the day following the game or practice.
  • Some away games may require students to return home late. Please make appropriate arrangements.
  • Team pictures will be made available by an unaffiliated photography studio.  You are not obligated to purchase these pictures.
  • Students serving time in ISD or OSS the day of a contest may not participate in the contest. Students serving time in ISD are expected to practice for that day.
  • Students serving OSS for any reason will be dismissed from the team.

“ Widefield School District #3 maintains a high standard of conduct for all athletes, coaches, and spectators.  We encourage you to attend athletic contests and cheer on our student athletes.  In the event that a spectator fails to act in a worthy manner, the spectator may be asked to leave the athletic contest.  The administration welcomes and appreciates your support.”
