South Metro League
Grand Mountain School (GMS) is a proud partner of the South Metro League, where you can find schedules and scores from across the league. Look for the button that says "scores and team standings." The South Metro League site shows directions to schools, and allows you to track the Mavericks throughout the playoffs. Thank you for promoting athletics and all that it does to build strength, character, and teamwork with our students. WSD3 does NOT charge students to play sports or spectators to watch events, except wrestling tournaments. We also do NOT charge for transportation.

Landsharks
We offer a non-competitive youth program to introduce running to young athletes in a safe and fun environment. The focus is on self-improvement, being an encouraging teammate, and making new friends. The Fall Cross Country Series is a fun running program led by Dejah Tunney and is open to students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Please remember to purchase a (light blue) team race shirt if this is your first season running.
Practices are scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday. Our first practice will be September 7, 2022 and we meet on the soccer field on the southeast side of the building from 3:15 - 4:00 pm. Kindergarten students will be picked up by an assistant coach and brought to our meeting location. 1st-5th grade students will meet their assistant coach at their designated location. All students will be given time after school to change, fill up their water bottle and eat their snack. Practices consist of running games and workouts with a strong focus on fun.
- Races are held on Sunday afternoons at the Mesa Ridge High School. Runners run ONE (1) of the following distances: Kindergarten & 1st grade 0.5 miles only, 2nd-5th grade 1 mile OR 1.5 miles.
- Registration opens August 1st and closes September 9th at 5:00 p.m.
- Runners must be registered prior to their first practice.
- Please register online at Landsharks Running Club
- $65 registration fee through September 3, 2022 then an additional $10/runner fee applies
I look forward to working with your athletes! Please consider volunteering to help coach or work at our race site. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer,
