AVID Program Information for 8th graders.

Dear 8th Grade Student/Parent,

The AVID program at Mesa Ridge High School wants YOU!

AVID is an elective class students can take all throughout high school. It is intended for college-bound students who can use extra support in taking challenging classes and preparing themselves to be strong candidates for college admission and scholarships.

While selection for the AVID program is a competitive process, we understand that COVID-19 has derailed the academic progress of many students since the 4th quarter of 2020. For that reason, we encourage ALL interested students to apply since AVID is a great way to regain your academic focus. You will be grouped with other like-minded students in an AVID family, designed to offer encouragement and support under the guidance of your AVID teacher who you will come to know as your "school parent."

We encourage you to learn more about the AVID program by visiting Mesa Ridge AVID.

Already interested? Apply Today! We look forward to receiving your application and learning about your interest in the AVID program.

If you have further questions about the AVID program after visiting the website, you can contact Andrew Kerth, the Mesa Ridge AVID Site Coordinator, at kertha@wsd3.org.

Sincerely,

The Mesa Ridge AVID Site Team
